The Night of the Museums, 14th May 2016

Museoiden keskiyö Väinö Linnan aukiollaThe Night of the Museums takes place in Tampere on Saturday, 14th May 2016. The museums and other cultural institutions taking part in this nocturnal event offered a wide range of exhibitions, guided tours and other programme events until midnight.

The ten-euro ticket grants entrance to all participating venues and the two local buses that provide transport between them. The first bus sets off from Museum Centre Vapriikki at 6 pm. Show the driver your Night of the Museums wristband when you board the bus. The Night of the Museums route is operated by Tampere Public Transport from 6 pm to TKL11.30 pm. Visitors to the National Police Museum, the Finnish Boxing Museum and the Lauri Viita Museum can take buses operated by Tampere Public Transport to Hervanta or Pispala. The event has partnered with Tampere Public Transport.

This year marked the ninth time that Night of the Museums events are being held in Tampere. In recent years, there have been about 10,000 visits. The Night of the Museums in Tampere is part of the Central European La Nuit des Musées / Lange Nacht der Museen museum events.
